November 2026 Monthly Update

Time is flying by, and fall (or perhaps winter already!) is certainly in the air!

Tomorrow, students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and participate in a morning full of fun, Halloween-themed learning activities. Please refer to the email sent by your child’s teacher for costume guidelines and expectations. We’re looking forward to a spooktacular morning!

November will bring our Fall Break and Parent-Teacher Conferences. We look forward to welcoming families into the school to connect with teachers, celebrate student learning, and enjoy a visit to the Book Fair. We are excited for all that the coming weeks have in store!

Trading Cards

Just a friendly reminder that trading cards of any sort (Pokemon, hockey, etc.) are asked to be kept at home and not brought to school. They can become a distraction to learning and can lead to many problems. These items can be enjoyed at home and outside of school hours. Thank you for your support with this.

Video Surveillance Technology (VST)

CBE has now installed a video surveillance system to help maintain a safe and secure environment at our school for students, staff and the public, and to help address vandalism and criminal activity on school property.

The video surveillance system is installed and reviewed in accordance with Administrative Regulation 1066. Personal information is collected under the authority of the Education Act and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), specifically section 10(1) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA).

This technology can be placed in areas such as the school parking lot, and building entrances and exits. This information is recorded and collected to help maintain a safe and secure environment in the school and on school property. The users of this information are the principal or designate and law enforcement personnel in the case of reported incidents that would require an investigation. Only authorized persons will review video surveillance information.

Inquiries concerning the video surveillance system, or the collection and use of recorded information may be made by contacting the school office.

Healthy Hunger

If your child will not be in attendance on the fun snack/lunch day and you wish to pick up the order, please email the school auburnbay@cbe.ab.ca by 10:30 am. It will be kept in the office until this time. If we do not hear about a pick-up, the item will be disposed of or given away.

Payment and waiver options are available on your account.

Safe Crossing and Drop-Off

Thank you to our amazing patrols and staff who are doing a fabulous job creating a safe environment for families to cross before and after school!

A reminder that there is to be NO parking, turning around or dropping off of students in the Staff Parking lot (unless appropriate signage is displayed to use the accessible parking stalls). It is unsafe to do so, and the safety of students is our top priority.

School Council

Our next School Council and School Fundraising Society meeting will be November 5 at 6:00 pm at the school.
