It was great to connect with so many families during conferences last week. Thank you for taking the time to meet with your child’s teacher. It takes a team working together to support our students and their learning!

We hope everyone is enjoying their Spring Break and getting some time for fun, rest and relaxation with family and friends.

We will see everyone back on Monday, March 31!

The Lion King School Performance

We are getting so excited for the upcoming school-wide spring performance of The Lion King on the evening of May 6th! There is a lot of work occurring behind the scenes as staff and students prepare and work hard to get ready for the big show. An important email will be sent on the evening of April 3rd with more information, including how/when to purchase tickets for the show.

Are you missing emails from School Council?

If you have not received emails from School Council, you need to sign up to receive commercial emails from the school.  www.cbe.ab.ca/subscribe

Healthy Hunger

If your child will not be in attendance on the fun snack/lunch day and you wish to pick up the order, please email the school auburnbay@cbe.ab.ca by 10:30 am. It will be kept in the office until this time. If we do not hear about a pick-up, the item will be disposed of or given away.

Safe Crossing

An important reminder that all parent and student crossing should be done at the crosswalks. Please do not cross in front of the school where there are no marked crosswalks.

Our wonderful student and parent patrols are at the crosswalks to support safe crossing. This also models safety for all students.

Dogs on School Property

As the weather gets nicer, we know our furry friends would like to come along for a walk to pick up/drop off at school. We would like to remind our community that according to the City of Calgary Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw, dogs are not allowed on school grounds, playgrounds and sports fields. This regulation is in place for several reasons.

  1. Children play on the property and dogs, through no fault of their own can create unsanitary conditions.
  2. Dogs can become overly excited when around children and other dogs which can result in barking and jumping.
  3. Perhaps most importantly, some children are fearful of dogs and should not have to face that fear when coming to and from school.

The restricted area for dogs includes the entire soccer field, the compound, the grassed areas, playgrounds and all sidewalks that lead to school entrances. We appreciate your support with this.
