We have had a busy first month of 2025! Students were engaged in many fun learning activities, as well as participating in classes with our Artist in Residence to create masks for our spring Lion King performance.
Staff have spent a great amount of time writing report cards that are now up for families to see in their MyCBE account.
Thank you for all your continued support and we are looking forward to a fun February!

Artist in Residence
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Heather Rozell, who completed the residency with all students last week. She worked in each classroom to help students create masks that they will use for the Lion King production in May. Students had a great time working on their masks!
We are grateful to our School Council who funded this event for all of our students!

NOTE: if you have moved out of, or will be moving out of, Auburn Bay for the 2025 school year please let the school office know at auburnbay@cbe.ab.ca and we will let you know your next steps.
Fees
Please log into your MyCBE/PowerSchool account and click on the icon “School Fees & Forms” to see if you have any outstanding fees. Field Trip Fees are added throughout the year. Any unpaid fees are absorbed by the school, so we appreciate people paying these.
Lunch supervision was added in October and monthly payments are available on your MyCBE account.
Healthy Hunger
If your child will not be in attendance on the fun snack/lunch day and you wish to pick up the order, please email the school auburnbay@cbe.ab.ca by 10:30 am. It will be kept in the office until this time. If we do not hear about a pick-up, the item will be disposed of or given away.
School Patrols
We are excited to announce that our student patrol program will begin February 3! Thank you to the students who signed up, as well as to the staff who are leading and organizing the program.
At this time, student patrols will only be patrolling after school. We kindly ask that these students are shown respect and kindness as they take on this important leadership role for Auburn Bay School.
The parents who have been organizing and providing safety at the crosswalk, will continue to do so in the mornings. We would like to express our gratitude to these adults who have been out there every day on their own time!
If you have a current Police Clearance and are interested in helping them out, please follow these steps (parent organized, not school organized):
- Email or come into the school to leave your name at the office.
 - The secretary will check to make sure you have a current Police Clearance.
 - If you have not done so already, you will need to sign the annual CBE Volunteer Form.
 - Your name and contact information will be shared with the lead parent volunteer.
 - This lead parent volunteer will reach out to you to discuss scheduling, as well as the procedures that must be followed when supervising (from AMA and CPS).

Ice and Crossing Safety
Please make sure to take care if walking on the fields or grass areas around the school. With Calgary’s thaw and freeze weather, these areas can get very icy. Mr. San works hard to keep the sidewalks around the school clear, so walking on those areas is encouraged.
We are also asking for everyone’s help in making sure everyone is crossing the road at the crosswalks. Cutting between traffic in the busy mornings and after school in front of the school is unsafe. Please make sure to follow the rules for everyone’s safety.
