Sports Day
The weather is looking promising for our annual Sports Day this Friday, May 31. Mr. Miller and some high school students from JCS, will be running the stations for our students to enjoy for an hour that morning. Students are to bring water bottles, hats, sunscreen and bug spray, if needed. Please see the email sent on May 27 for more information.
Kindergarten Celebration
On June 19, there will be two celebrations, one for AM classes and one for the PM class. Kindergarten families are welcome to come to the gym at their designated times to enjoy an assembly celebrating the end of the kindergarten year. An email from teachers will be sent soon to kindergarten families to share more information.
Grade 5 and Grade 6 students in EES Celebration
The grade 5 and grade 6 students in EES celebration will be on Friday June 21 at 10:30am. Grade 5 and grade 6 EES families are welcome to come and join us in the gym. Following the celebration, opportunities for photos will be available as well as food trucks. Thank you to our School Council for sponsoring the food trucks and providing the grade 5 and EES students with a snack after the celebration. The doors will open at 10:15am. Grade 5 families, please see the email sent from teachers for more information.
Class Lists
The process of developing class lists occurs right up until the first day of school. For this reason, families will find out who their child’s teacher is just before the start of school. An email will be sent at the end of August for more information regarding first day of school procedures.
School Grounds
Just a reminder that there is no school supervision after school and supervision of parents/guardians is encouraged to help minimize any problems. We have encouraged students to go straight home afterschool and check in with parents/guardians before meeting with peers. During lunch hours, 11:10am – 12:30pm, students in grades 1-5 are supervised by lunchroom supervisors. If kindergarten students are at the park with their adults at this time, the adults must be supervising their child and following the school playground rules to help minimize any problems.
Outstanding Fees
As the school year is almost over, please make sure to check your MyCBE account for any fees still outstanding. To check, log into your MyCBE, click on Fees & Waivers and outstanding fees will be there. Currently, Auburn Bay School has $4,289.25 outstanding. Any fees that do not get paid, come out of school funding. New fees are added throughout the year which include: Milk, T-shirts/hoodies, recorders, field trips.
You can make partial payments or apply for a waiver online, if needed, or contact the office with any concerns.

City of Calgary Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw
Just a reminder that according to the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw
pets are not allowed on school grounds. We understand that all members of our community are responsible pet owners and consider their furry friends to be safe members of the family. However, it is in the best interest of all that we adhere to the above bylaw for the safety of the pet, the owner themselves, and most importantly our students. According to the bylaw, restricted area for pets includes the entire playing field, the grassed areas on school property and all sidewalks that lead to school entrances. We have had concerns expressed that dogs are coming on school property before and after school and as per the bylaw, this is not allowed. There are students and adults that have a fear of dogs and we always want to create a welcoming, caring and respectful environment for all at our school. Thank you in advance for following this bylaw and showing respect for everyone.
