It is hard to believe that we are heading into our final month of the 2024-2025 school year!
Thank you to all of our students, staff and families for their support of our school-wide Lion King performance. There was a ton of work that went into preparing and it was a huge success. Every student and staff member had a part in this show and as shared, this demonstrated and was an example of our focus and hard work around Belonging. We are proud of our wonderful Auburn Bay School community.
There will be a final email coming out in late June that will have more information about the start of next school year.

Sports Day
We are excited to have the high school students from JCS, as well as their teacher, Mr. Miller, come to run the Sports Day for our students. Mrs. Leibel is working with them to set up fun activities for students to participate in for an hour (9:45-10:45 am) on June 6.
Kindergarten students have an in-school field trip this day, so they will have an alternate date for their Sports Day and freezies with Mrs. Leibel (watch for email from the teachers).
Please have your child prepared this day to be outside (sunscreen, hat, water bottle, comfy clothes and running shoes). If the weather is uncooperative, we will have an alternate plan that will be shared with families, if needed.
School Council will be providing freezies for all students to enjoy at the end of the activities. If you would prefer that your child does not have a freezie, please email your child’s teacher.
Grade 5 Farewell
An email was sent to all Grade 5 families about the upcoming Grade 5 Farewell on June 20. Doors will open at 10:15 am for Grade 5 families and the celebration will start at 10:30 am.
Our School Council has organized Food Trucks for the event, which will be open to all families and community members to enjoy!
Please watch for email updates about this event from your child’s teacher.
Kindergarten Celebration
An email was sent to all Kindergarten families about the upcoming Kindergarten Celebration on June 18. Doors for the AM class will open at 9:45 am and the celebration will start at 10:00 am.
Doors for the PM class will open at 1:15 pm and the celebration will start at 1:30 pm.
School Council has arranged for each kindergarten student to receive a small treat at the end of each celebration.
Please watch for email updates about this event from your child’s teacher.
Patrols
Mrs. Teichroeb has been working hard, along with the student patrols and staff, to set up teams for morning patrols starting June 2.
The patrol teams have been doing a fabulous job after school and are now ready to take on this new opportunity.
Thank you in advance to all our families for showing patience, kindness and respect to our patrol teams as they work hard to keep everyone safe while crossing.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to our parent volunteers who have been out every morning for months at the crosswalks to support our students and families. Very thankful and grateful for their commitment and time!
After working closely with the City of Calgary, we have been approved for the rectangle flashing light (RRFB) at the L-crosswalk and a No U-Turn sign by the staff parking lot entrance. The light will be installed this summer and the sign will be installed sometime in June.
Thank you to our families for continuing to follow the regulations and expectations around safe crossing (no jaywalking) and parking (no parking in the bus zones).
School Council
Our last School Council meeting with be on June 5 at 6:00 pm at the school.
We would like to thank our dedicated members for supporting Auburn Bay School, students, staff and families this year. They go above and beyond to organize and provide support, and funding for exciting learning opportunities, teacher resources, treats for students, technology, sound systems, lights, music programing, our school wide production of The Lion King, decorating for school events and much more! Thank you for your time, generosity and support!
Bikes and Scooters
A big shout out to our wonderful students who are walking their bikes while crossing at the crosswalks, as well as walking them to the bike racks. We are proud of them for following the bike/scooter expectations to keep themselves and others safe.
