November 2025 Monthly Update
We recognize that the last three weeks has challenging and complex for many and for various reasons. We would like to express our gratitude to students, staff, families and our Council for making the first few days back so warm and welcoming.
It is the best feeling to be back together at Auburn Bay School!
As we focus on reconnecting and learning, you may see that some items and events will look different than they have in the last few years. We appreciate your support, patience and flexibility as we work hard to reconnect, reassure and refocus.

Halloween
We know that students are looking forward to Halloween!
On Friday, October 31, students are invited to wear costumes to school, if they choose. Please ensure that the costumes worn still allow for students to participate in school activities such as FAB (recess) and gym time, as well as be safe for moving around the school and safe for other students (eg. inflatable costumes are not to be worn in the school). We ask that any weapon-like or other accessories that are not appropriative for school be left at home and saved for Halloween night. Students are allowed to wear face paint. If a mask is part of a costume, students will be asked to wear it on top of their head for safety reasons.
Classes may be participating in some fun Halloween activities on this day. We are looking forward to a fun Halloween morning together!
*Please do not send whole class treats to hand out as we have many students with dietary restrictions and allergies.
Remembrance Day
Staff and students will recognize and honour the importance of Remembrance Day with their classes on November 7th. There will be a school-wide moment of silence at 11:00 am.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will continue on the scheduled dates. More detailed information will be sent in an email next week.
Terry Fox
Auburn bay School Raised $840 online and $686 in toonies for a total of $1526.00 towards the Terry Fox Foundation. Thank you for everyone’s generosity. Way to go Auburn Bay!
Healthy Hunger
If your child will not be in attendance on the fun snack/lunch day and you wish to pick up the order, please email the school auburnbay@cbe.ab.ca by 10:30 am. It will be kept in the office until this time. If we do not hear about a pick-up, the item will be disposed of or given away.
Central Fees
Within the next week, CBE will be adding central fees to your My CBE Account. These fees include lunch supervision, bussing and school supplies.
CBE has shared that lunch supervision and bussing have been adjusted to reflect the absence of students during the labour action.
If your child is staying for lunch and you have not yet registered for lunch supervision, please log into your account to do so.
Payment and waiver options are available on your account.
Safe Crossing
We are excited to announce that the construction has been completed at the crosswalks! After years of advocating and working with the city, we are happy to see that this corner will be safer for students and families to cross at.
Grade 5s are working at getting the student patrols up and running. Our hope is that they will be starting in early November. Please make sure to support our students and abide by the rules when they are out their being leaders for our school and advocating for safety for all.
School Council
There will be no School Council meeting this month. In the December updates, we will share the next meeting date that will be in the New Year.
Thank you to our wonderful and generous Council for their continued support for staff, students and families!
