Dear Auburn Bay Families,
After returning from the labour action disruption, we have been working hard to set-up/re-schedule some school events. Please see below for important updates and information.
Student Patrols
The Grade 5 staff and students have been working hard to get the patrol team up and running. Schedules and practices have been shared with students that are on the team.
Our school community will start to see the student patrols out at crosswalks the week of November 17th. We will be starting with after school patrols and will gradually start morning patrols shortly after.
Please remember to abide by the patrol rules and routines when crossing at the crosswalks. They have worked hard and we are proud of our students for participating in this leadership role to support the safety of all our students and families.
Winter Concerts
The CBE has shared that as classes resume, “the focus will be on teaching and learning and activities such as performances and other school events may be delayed, rescheduled, cancelled or look different than previous times”.
We recognize school events and performances such as the winter concerts are enjoyed and appreciated by our school community and we are happy to announce that we will still be holding Winter Concerts this year.
HOWEVER, with the very limited amount of time until December to prepare and with the main focus at this time on the teaching and learning mentioned above, these performances will look much different than previous years. The concerts will still allow us to gather together to support our sense of belonging and caring, and give students an opportunity to perform for families.
Please mark your calendars for the following:
- Tuesday, December 2 - Kindergarten and Grade 1
- Wednesday, December 3 - Grades 2 and 4
- Thursday, December 4 -Grades 3 and 5
Performances will start at 6:00 pm and doors will open at 5:30 pm.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We are very excited to still provide an opportunity to gather together. Another email reminder with information will be sent closer to the concert dates.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
We are continuing with our November Conferences on November 27 and 28.
The online booking system, on your My CBE account will open on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 8:00 am and will close on Wednesday, November 26 at 8:00 pm. You will be able to book a 10-minute IN-PERSON conference time to meet with your child’s teacher.

Friday, November 28
- ALL Grades: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
The Scholastic Book Fair will be set up in the HUB area on Thursday night (4:00 pm - 7:00 pm) and Friday (8:00 am – 12:00 pm). Kindergarten families that book conferences during the day on Thursday are more than welcome to come back in the evening or on Friday to come to the Book Fair.
