Well, we have completed our first month of the new school year together! It has been a fabulous September full of fun and learning.

It was wonderful to see everyone at our Open House! We enjoyed all the smiles and conversations. Thank you for working together as a team to support all our students here at Auburn Bay School.

Thank you to our School Council for organizing the Food Trucks for families to enjoy.

If you do not register for this service and your child stays for lunch (daily attendance is taken), the fee will be automatically assigned to your account in October.

Attendance

If your child will be absent or late, please make sure to call or email the school.

Safe Crossing

Thank you to everyone who is following the safe crossing expectations in the morning and after school.

With the continued construction, we recognize there is an inconvenience. However, this will be short term for a better outcome for the safety of our students and families at a very busy intersection.

We have adults supporting at the crosswalks while there is construction.

Student patrols are set to start at the end of October, as long as the construction is completed.

We are asking that there is NO JAY WALKING in front of the school. Please take the extra few seconds to walk to the corner to cross safely. It is a busy street and we have seen too many close calls when people are crossing this way.

Teachers have talked to students about safe crossing, also.

Orange Shirt Day

The Government of Canada proclaimed Sept. 30 as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Because this day is being observed and there is no school on Sept. 30, students and staff at Auburn Bay School will acknowledge our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation on Oct. 1. Everyone is encouraged to wear an orange, or favorite shirt, to recognize the importance of this day.
